QZC Fundraising Appeal 2022
Dear members and friends,
QZC Fundraising Appeal 2022
As we enter the last quarter of this financial year, it is time for Queensland Zen Centre to review our financial position and look ahead to the year to come.
This year has seen QZC truly settle in to our home at Barellan Point, and with the generosity of our members and friends, we have been able to undertake many of the essential repairs that this wonderful place of dharma practice has required.
But we have faced some challenges too, and in this, our fundraising appeal for 2022, we are again seeking your support to ensure the long-term security and sustainability of QZC.
In particular, the recent extreme rain event and flooding have highlighted the need for significant works to replace the retaining wall that supports the slope between the zen centre and the Brisbane River.
The current retaining wall is a timber construction, and was undermined back in the 2011 floods. While we were very fortunate this summer that the flood waters didn't rise as high, with more frequent and severe flood events forecast, it is only a matter of time before we see the retaining wall fail.
We are therefore setting a fundraising goal for this year of $5,000 to replace the current timber wall and protect the zen centre with a sturdy and durable construction of concrete and metal.
Any and all donations are always greatly appreciated.
If you would like to make a donation, please find our bank details below:

We would very much like to acknowledge your donation. Please provide details in the bank transfer or let us know via email when you make the donation.
The impact of climate change presents huge challenges for us all, as we seek to adapt to our changing environment, and I'm sure many of you will have been personally affected by the recent flooding. We are profoundly grateful that the support of our members and friends has enabled the QZC to establish such a beautiful riverside home, and we hope that it can be a place that welcomes dharma practitioners and friends for decades to come.
Many thanks for your ongoing generosity. We look forward to welcoming you to experience practice at beautiful Barellan Point.
Yours in the Dharma
