QZC Fundraising Appeal 2025

​Dear Members and Friends,
 
As we launch QZC's 2025 fundraising appeal, we are very conscious that we have recently lived through another extreme weather event here in south east Queensland, and some of you are no doubt still dealing with its aftermath.
 
After the 2022 floods, our zen centre community contributed generously to enable QZC to rebuild the retaining wall that protects the property from the Brisbane River below, and I am very glad to say that upgraded wall did a wonderful job as the river rose with last month’s cyclone, so while there was massive erosion below the wall, the land and property above are protected for now. 
 
We now need to engage not only in a big clear up along the river side, but also to attend to the many maintenance tasks that continue to need attention as we take care of the zen centre as a place of practice for all.
 
Our fundraising target for this year is $10,000, which will enable us to undertake:
 

• Internal building repairs, including fixing a roof leak, replacing some screens and frames, and addressing old termite and roof leak damage in both back rooms 

 

• External plumbing tasks, including repairs to existing downpipes, adding a new downpipe, and adding critical new storm drains on the south-east side of the building and the north side of the garage
